PP Strapping Roll Grades: Fully Automatic vs Semi Automatic vs Manual

Great Global Packaging · Guide

Choosing the right strapping roll depends on how you strap your boxes. Here is a simple guide to the four PP strapping grades we manufacture.

Fully Automatic

Made for high-speed fully automatic strapping machines. The roll has a precise core, consistent width and uniform tension so the machine runs continuously without jams.

Semi Automatic

Designed for semi-automatic machines where the operator places the strap and the machine tensions and seals it. Great balance of strength and smooth feeding for medium volumes.

Fresh Manual

Made from fresh (virgin) material for maximum strength. Ideal for hand strapping with manual tensioners and sealers, especially for heavier cartons and pallets.

Semi Manual

An economical grade for everyday manual bundling and light-to-medium loads — dependable performance at a budget-friendly price.

How to Choose the Right Strapping Width and Colour

Great Global Packaging · Tips

PP box strapping rolls come in different widths (such as 9mm, 12mm and 15mm) and thicknesses. Lighter cartons and bundling usually use narrower straps, while heavier loads and pallets need wider, thicker strapping for a stronger hold.

Colour is mostly about branding and identification — white and green are popular choices. If you are unsure which width suits your product and machine, share your requirement with us and we will recommend the right specification.

Why Good Strapping Protects Your Shipments (and Your Costs)

Great Global Packaging · Insight

Quality strapping keeps cartons closed and pallets stable from the warehouse to the customer's door. Weak or inconsistent strapping snaps during handling, leading to damaged goods, returns and lost trust.

High-tensile, uniformly wound PP strapping holds loads securely, runs smoothly on machines, and reduces wastage — protecting both your products and your bottom line. That is the idea behind our promise: a safety strap for your precious product.
